Here are some fun balloon games for your kid’s party that they and their friends will enjoy! Make sure to have plenty of prizes for the winners.
These games are perfect for playing outdoors!
Silent Teams
The kids have to line up from shortest to tallest without talking. They can use gestures, but no talking allowed. Once they’re lined up, alternate kids step forward to form one team, while the remaining kids in line form the other team.
Nose the Balloon
Divide the kids into teams of two. Each team gets a large balloon that they have to blow up. They must keep the balloon in the air by bumping it only with their noses. Every time the balloon falls on the ground, they lose a point. Each team starts with 100 points, and the team that takes the longest to lose all their points wins.
Pass the Balloon
Each team gets a sausage balloon to blow up. Line up the teams and give the first kid in each team a balloon. They have to squeeze the balloon between their knees, with the balloon pointing forward. On the word « go, » the kids must pass the balloon to the next kid in line without using their hands and without dropping or popping it! If a balloon is dropped, it must be picked up using only their knees. If a balloon pops, it is replaced with a new one, but the team must start again. Give prizes to the winning team.
Stomp the Balloon
Give each kid a balloon and a piece of string about a yard long. They have to blow up the balloon and tie the string to the balloon and their ankle, leaving enough string between their foot and the balloon. The kids must try to stomp and pop each other’s balloons. The winner is the last one with an unpopped balloon.
Balloon Relay
Each team gets 10 balloons. The first person in each team has to blow up a balloon, run to a marked line, and pop the balloon by sitting on it or stomping on it. Once the balloon pops, they have to run back and tag the next team member, who repeats the process. The winner is the team that pops all their balloons first.
Water Balloon Toss
Gather the kids in pairs, each holding a water balloon. They take turns tossing the balloon to each other. With each successful toss, they take a step back. The pair that manages to toss the balloon the farthest without dropping it wins!
Back-to-Back Balloon Pop
Pair up the kids and have them stand in a line, back to back. Each pair holds a balloon between their backs. On your signal, they try to pop the balloon using only their backs. The first pair to pop their balloon wins. Keep playing until all the balloons are popped.
Balloon Number Challenge
Form a circle with the kids and assign each one a number. The kid with the highest number stands in the center, holding a balloon. They shout out a number and toss the balloon into the air. The kid whose number was called must catch the balloon before it touches the ground and repeat the process. If they fail to catch it, they’re out. When only two kids are left, have a parent throw the balloon.
Water Balloon Relay Race
Divide the kids into two teams and give each team a set of water balloons (at least one per team member). The first player from each team places a water balloon between their knees and races to the finish line, dropping the balloon into a bucket without using their hands. They then run back and tag the next player to continue the relay. If a balloon is dropped, the player must retrieve it by hand, return to the start, and begin again. The team with the most balloons in their bucket wins!
