Kids’ birthday parties these days have become quite extravagant. Many children have only attended parties at places like McDonald’s or Burger King!

However, with a little bit of planning, you can throw a spectacular party at your own home, without spending too much money!

A princess theme would be perfect for your little girl. After all, which girl doesn’t dream of being a princess?

Here are some ideas to help you plan a princess party without breaking the bank!

Remember, it’s not always better to have a large number of children at the party. As a general rule, invite 4 friends for a 4-year-old’s party, 5 friends for a 5-year-old’s party, and so on.

Start looking for invitations beforehand at the Dollar Store, garage sales, or discount centers. If you can’t find a good deal, consider letting the birthday girl help make some. Simply fold a sheet of typing paper in half, write the necessary information inside, and the guest’s name on the outside. Decorate it with glitter, stickers, and more. Seal it with a staple and hand-deliver or put it in an envelope and mail it.

The girls will absolutely adore making their own «treasure boxes.» Use shoe boxes covered with tissue paper or spray-painted gold in advance. Then, the girls can decorate their boxes with stickers, glitter, buttons, silk flowers, beads, markers, crayons, or anything they can think of! The boxes can be used to hold any prizes or favors from the party, such as those from a pinata or a grab bag, for the girls to take home.

Making necklaces is both fun and easy. Provide colored twine or narrow ribbon (use whatever you have on hand) and let the guests string Cheerios, Froot Loops, Lifesavers, uncooked pasta, or any other small items you can find.

A great game to play is a beanbag toss. Make beanbags out of clean old socks. Find a large box and cut holes in the shape of crowns. Then, let the girls take turns tossing the beanbags into the holes.

For younger children, they will enjoy a grab bag game. Wrap up small toys (ones you’ve bought on sale or at the dollar store, of course) and place them in a bag.
